Have you felt a baby kick? Not when it’s all out in this world but while it’s in the mother’s womb, still shielded from the insanity in the outside world. It’s like a kick that never hurts, like the movement of an infallible limb; completely good and extremely exciting.
Well, if your answer is no, then we are in the same boat. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had my fair share of touching the abdomen of expectant mothers but for other reasons. You see, when you feel something you’ve never felt before, you can’t describe it as much as it feels to you. Maybe that’s because you are not meant to describe it, you’re meant to just feel it. You enjoy that ecstatic and deeply rumbling moment with a sincere joy that sends ripples down your stomach. You take it all in, the feel that has never been experienced before.
Babies are little bundles of life and those kicks remind us of their presence. They tell us we are right here and can feel you trying to feel us; just don’t feel too hard. This sends a sea of peace dotted with waves of joy through our very being.
It’s really amazing how this is very much like the peace that God brings. It’s like the kick of a baby; to be felt and maybe not to be described. This feeling is one that I can be sure to have felt. It’s like the joyous avalanche of soothing emotions. An avalanche started by various means such as through prayer, study of God’s word and sometimes really out of the blues. His voice maybe a whisper, or his presence can be felt; and the feeling is certainly one that cannot be mistaken. It’s indeed the baby kicks from the supernatural; the womb of the Spirit. And every single kick is a different kind of new experience.
Once again I ask, have you felt the baby kicks of God?
