Dear ladies, do you remember our favourite childhood cartoons;  Barbie, Cinderella, Anna Montana etc? Guys, you're shaking your heads at the mention of these cartoon series but don't you dare be the black pots calling a kettle black. You had your fair share of the fun with the likes of Spiderman, Ben 10, Pokemon, Batman, Fantastic Four etc. Busted right😋?Lol.

Something common to these movies is that there is usually an hero and one or many villains. This hero is usually blessed with so many super powers that others do not have and so we fall in love with seeing how powerful one man can be. Some of us watched movies where there's a magic wand and whatever you mention while holding the magic wand happens immediately. The memories of how I often acted this out with broom sticks gets me laughing😂.

Enough of the cartoon talks, let me drive at my point. As humans, we don't have a magic wand neither do we have super powers. But as Christians, we have the name of Jesus that makes everything possible. We have the powers and authority given to us by God. I started off with those cartoons just to show us a picture of how much faith and confidence those heroes exhibited in the powers they had. Why is it different with us who have the real and highest power and authority over everything in this earth?

Phil.2.10-11 "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

We do not have a magic wand but we have a super name! The name that is above every other name. The name that is above every sickness and every pain. The name that "Devil-the villain" is scared of. The name that challenges death.

Acts.3.6 - Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." [NKJV]
Acts.3.12 - So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: "Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? [NKJV]
Acts.3.16 - And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. [NKJV]

Yes! Peter said it. He said it wasn't by his own power of godliness (for those of us that will say it's because it was Peter-the disciple of Jesus), it was through faith in the name of Jesus. We have this same privilege brethren, let's use it to the glory of God.
Let's not forget the words of Jesus himself;

John.14.14 - If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
Dear believer, harness the power that has been given unto you. Don't forget, you are a hero in Christ Jesus!
